For most of us money means more that we really want. Security, unfolding possibilities stretching out into a future that brings delicious excitements and pleasure instead of pain.. Without it the world is fraught with fear. For Americans money is that folding green stuff; the line of numbers in our accounts; the knowledge that the plastic we use will keep working.

Money, that stuff the provides the useful tools of fungibility, stability of value, and ease of storage, is essential to the present system. But the present system is dead, barely twitching as the last, vestiges of value are sucked out. What will Americans do when they realize that their money was a lie?

The idea of money began as iconic representations of commodities; shards of pottery on which was inscribed the things counted. Sheep, cheeses, and other commodities were among these. That lasted about as long as it took some people to figure out they could make their own. Since then currency has moved through several incarnations as outlined in this poem. (Nice when you can get some real utility out of one of there.)

From an insight of convenience they drew marks on shards of clay
The goats and sheep and cheeses thus were counted up each day.
And trader's lives were better, as barter was replaced.
With mites of fired pottery that bore each items face.

The marks and shards were money; more fungible to hold
So trade and space were easier; what was owned was sold.
But then a cunning taker thought to make his own
The shards went out of favor, replacing coin wrot gold

Issued first by temple and then anointed King
So fungible the medium it built a wealth in things.

Accumulation beckoned the greedy onto thrones.
Through money all were shackled, the people could be owned.

A flow of current holdings, in increments of gold
Created flow of currency, and ever more was sold.

Price now marked in shiny bits they trusted not to lie.
But men saw ways of stealing from weight the coins would buy.
So England then replaced them, their coins had reeded edge.
Clipping and the shaving, made obvious instead.

Money called and promised, so fluid in its scope.
Kings and those in power wrote promises on notes.

Temptations to debasement, temptations to inflate.
Became the real foundation of the governmental state.

And money still enticed us, and draws in those who steal.
Finessing, redefining, the units once were real.

Now with no foundation in sheep or even cheese
The money is all funny, and only Kings are pleased.

The flow of human commerce, so easy to abuse.
Is still the form adopted, that all of us must use.

We count up paper icons, inscribed with those now gone.
We trust in those who make them, despite the fact their wrong.

We need the fluid functions that money can provide.
While all the self anointed kings count, and so decide.

Those in power, from kings to presidents, have always used the system to steal. This has never been more true that in the America of the last century.

Fiat money, that endlessly self multiplying stuff has allowed the FED to perpetuate a scheme so outrageous that every Ponzi-scheming con man is dumb struck with envy; has enabled government, and those corporations, like the FED, to spend and trade us into penury.

This summer we are approaching the culmination of the plans so long in the making as such instruments as Blackstone Group, LP finish off the job.

But what do we do when the banks stop printing funny money? How we we buy that loaf of bread? How do we survive? There are answers and there have been warnings. We will be talking about those this Friday on The Spiritual Politician with Jim Capo.

Jim is a successful businessman who became aware of the 'game' while sunning his own business in North Carolina. Now, he spends his time awakening Americans to the hazards all of us face. From 1985-1986 he worked in Japan with the company's joint venture partner, Polyplastics, LTD. This was during the first main wave of Japanese companies establishing production facilities in the United States in order to increase market share for their products, while avoiding calls for trade sanctions to offset the ballooning trade imbalance between the then two largest economies of the world.

In 1988, recognizing the business opportunities brought on by the expansion of Japanese manufacturing into the United States, he and two co-workers at Celanese left the company to form an injection molding company, Team One Plastics, Inc. The privately held company has grown successfully from $0 of sales to over $12 million dollars of annual revenue with 100 employees located in plants in Albion, Michigan and Greensboro, North Carolina – the venture that brought him to North Carolina.

The market niche success of his own company notwithstanding, Mr. Capo has long been concerned about the general plight of America's manufacturing and economic base as well as the continued encroachments by both national and international regulation on the free-enterprise system. It was during his work to defeat North American Free Trade Agreement that he became aware of the John Birch Society, which he joined in 1993.

In 2003, Mr. Capo sold off his stake in Team One Plastics; now he travels and educates people to the problems and writes.

Many have worried; many have spoken out. It is time to take those warnings seriously.

Americans need to find solutions to the problems that are in our future; Americans are exploring those solutions in alternative approaches to exchange, some online and others in local script. Free Exchange, labor exchange, and other community based systems are taking the issue of money back in time.

Trade and commerce can be honorable; they can also destroy the basis of honor and shackle a free people when they are not carried out with transparency and using clean, simple tools that reject the fractional banking that has converted American prosperity into a swamp of greed.

The focus of our show is how to bring government into alignment with truth of our spiritual nature. So America started with the idea we are all, inherently free. We are free to choose, free to live, to breath, and to live our lives as we see fit. Government does not own us; government is just a contractor, providing service.

That framework is in alignment with the spiritual truth that each of us connects to God directly, needing no agency as an intermediary. To be free is to be free in the spirit and so in the flesh that temporarily holds the spirit.

When Thomas Jefferson said we were all possessed of inherent rights, existing before government he was extending a spiritual truth into a civic form. It is that Mission Statement from the Declaration of Independence we need to keep in mind.

Because we are free and reject, as did Christ, the use of deceit, manipulation or violence we need to be conscious about our relationships with others and find ways to grow into the sense of connection and community that makes us One in Him.

This is especially true for Christians but it is true for everyone else as well.

Nearly every major spiritual viewpoint enunciates the idea that we are connected to each other and should be good to each other. Christians just have an even more exacting mission. Christians are to love every one, treating them as they would Jesus.

Jesus was very clear about how we were to treat others. He did not say that it was alright to be abusive, deceitful, and violent if we used government as our tool and agent. There was no exception, He wanted all of our hearts, minds and souls. Christ did not lay out any plan of government, but left it to the conscience of the individual, the same way He connects to each of us.

We are Americans but we are also members of a human family that connects us to something truly wonderful and immense.

So our job here at the Spiritual Politician is to look at Government as a human tool we use every day. We need to consider if government is working in a way that speaks that common understanding about our connections to each other and, if it is not, we need to change it.

Americans have had many successes over the last 231 years since our founding and, learning from both mistakes and successes we can consider that question. So here at the Spiritual Politician we look at the truth behind of rhetoric.

Given what is going on today in Government what we may decide to do it reboot the whole system.

Following the lead of Halliburton Hedge Funds and other questionable ventures are beginning to relocate off shore. This provides immunization for possible liability when the bottom falls out. Pensions, annuities, and other investments are at risk.

Never have Americans carried such a weight of debt. Never has it been more difficult for them to simply tread water.

Nearly all Americans with phones are receiving daily calls from mortgage refinance companies. Today I received 5 such calls. Two different offers for refinancing options appeared as ads today on the opening page for Yahoo.

Never has our future been less secure though we have never paid more for what was billed as 'security.'

What is government offering as safety?

Today states like New Hampshire are being threatened by Homeland Security for the offense of refusing to comply with the REAL ID.

George Bush has begin using Executive Orders to enact edicts that he can use to flout the law. The direction of his orders is fascism.

George Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was part of a plot to overthrow the government of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in a right-wing military coup in 1934.

That Bush Conspiracy was confirmed in Congressional Hearings. Strangely, no action was taken.

Nothing about us is as persistent as family culture. You drink it in with your mother's milk.

How secure are you and your family right now?

Today Americans have no savings; we live from pay check to pay check.

Your local grocery store has enough food for two days.

Much of that food comes from off shore or is transported long distances.

What would your community be like if the shelves of those grocery stores were empty?

Food the originates from off shore is more likely to carry diseases and have been impacted by toxic conditions.

Where is the food you will eat next week NOW?

Hurricane Katrina taught us that FEMA and the Federal government may take money in taxes but they will not deliver the services and security we thought we were buying.

The bottom may fall out at any moment. That is where you are today.

That said, what real action can you take to make your family, your neighborhood, and your community more secure, healthier, and less dependent on all things that are harmful or must come from a distance?

There are answers.. All challenges life offers come with unsuspected opportunities. Emergencies make us focus on what really matters in life. What really matters to you? That new cell phone that will be history in six months? Or the voice you hear on the other end when someone you love answers?

People across the U. S. are already adopting solutions that enrich their lives, allowing them to live healthier and know where and how what they will be eating is being raised; that those they love will be happy and cared for.

Families and communities are coming together to accomplish good things. So can you.

Arthur Ogawa is a resident of Three Rivers, Tulare County, California. With his family, he has lived there since 1993, immigrating from the San Francisco Bay area.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Art had a career as an experimental physicist (PhD, Physics, UC Berkeley, 1978), working at facilities such as the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Fermi National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Commuting kept him from being the kind of active father he wanted to be to their two children.

So in 1986 he turned to technical consulting in order to work at home with his wife Marian Goldeen. He has worked as an electronic publishing consultant for some 20 years, serving clients such as Apple, HP, NASA, and Boeing. Their children became home schooled. Today their daughter and son develop Web comics, music, and painting as part of their continuing self-directed learning.

The family achieved a closeness they never believed possible but had always wanted. They also got out of debt entirely. They are part of a community that helps each other. Art is now working on making their home more energy efficient.

When Art and his family moved to Three Rivers Art became active in the Kaweah Food Co-op. Starting with the food they eat, now far more locally grown and so more dependable and healthy, they are working on more ways to make their community better.

The Kaweah Food Co-op of Three Rivers, Tulare County, California, is a group of some 30 families who work cooperatively each month to provide high-quality, cost-effective food for their families and the community. Meeting once every four weeks, the Co-op distributes food obtained from UNFIW and local sources on a non-profit basis. That has provided a basis that can now meet other needs that their community and other communities across the U. S. did not imagine would be necessary a decade ago.

Life is about values and quality for them. What is it for you?

Community activism is individual investment in the community where you live. Doing it yourself, after all, is where America came from. In the world of America's Founders government budgeting meant getting together once a year to go over that budget line by line. Everyone could see how the pennies would be spent and by whom. That is real American government; the people doing it themselves voluntarily. Today most fire departments are still run by local volunteers.

We think of the world as divided into 'for profit' and 'government.' But the history of America's people and communities is really the history of cooperation that yields profits not counted in fiat money but in far richer benefits. Community involvement builds deep bonds, enduring trust, and the kind of capital that lasts.

Across the country people are reconsidering how their needs might be better met and they are doing it themselves.

Co-ops are one way people do that. Kaweah in Three Rivers strives to find and develop local sources for food, also on the agenda are solutions for problems that revitalize the essence of American Community and leave families and neighbors better, not worse, off.

Art works to help local small farms keep going in a world of factory farms that would otherwise gobble them up. Small, family farms produce food you can trust and great community.

In small towns, big cities, and in the suburbs, people like Art and Kaweah Co-op are looking for solutions to looming problems. With back yard gardens, co-ops, and exchange they are changing how they eat and live. They use consensus, finding common ground, and caring. Working together works both to solve problems now and prevent problems in the future.

Knowing your neighbors is the best insurance you can buy today, a security that you probably don't yet have but that you can learn about from Art and Kaweah.

Their Co-op dates back 25 years, and some of the founding members are still active.

Jim Guest was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2002 with the class of 90 new Representatives. This large class was a result of term limits being voted in by the citizens of Missouri.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla he holds a B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M. S. Degree in Engineering Management. After twelve years in Aerospace with Douglas Aircraft in California he went into business for himself in Northwest Missouri.

Jim is an active member of his church and his community. As a state legislator he knew immediately that action needed to be taken to oppose the Real ID. The movement that springs from that is bringing together Americans from all over the country to oppose the latest link in the shackles that are intended to convert American into a feudal state.

According to Jim Guest this is a completely nonpartisan issue, with supporters split nearly evenly between Republican and Democrat. Guest is, himself a Republican who is supporting Ron Paul for the presidential nomination of his party.

Representative Guest will let you know what you can do to turn back this imminent threat to your sovereignty as an American and a program that moves power not to the Federal level but to the international level as an adjunct of the North American Union.

Now, we can see the outline of the plan to turn America into a plantation as the dots connect to shackle every one of us.

Despite its name and the smooth arguments advanced the Real ID is Real Fascism. Starting in just three years the Federal government intends to make it impossible for you, an American, to open a bank account, travel on a plane, collect Social Security payments, or take advantage of nearly any government service.

The House of Representatives has already approved a standalone version of the Real ID That proposal was covertly inserted through a bill on military spending. This is being rushed into law even as Americans awaken to the danger they face from their own government.

The focus of our show is how to bring government into alignment with truth of our spiritual nature. So America started with the idea we are all, inherently free. We are free to choose, free to live, to breath, and to live our lives as we see fit. Government does not own us; government is just a contractor, providing service.

That framework is in alignment with the spiritual truth that each of us connects to God directly, needing no agency as an intermediary. To be free is to be free in the spirit and so in the flesh that temporarily holds the spirit.

When Thomas Jefferson said we were all possessed of inherent rights, existing before government he was extending a spiritual truth into a civic form. It is that Mission Statement from the Declaration of Independence we need to keep in mind.

Because we are free and reject, as did Christ, the use of deceit, manipulation or violence we need to be conscious about our relationships with others and find ways to grow into the sense of connection and community that makes us One in Him.

This is especially true for Christians but it is true for everyone else as well.

Nearly every major spiritual viewpoint enunciates the idea that we are connected to each other and should be good to each other. Christians just have an even more exacting mission. Christians are to love every one, treating them as they would Jesus.

Jesus was very clear about how we were to treat others. He did not say that it was alright to be abusive, deceitful, and violent if we used government as our tool and agent. There was no exception, He wanted all of our hearts, minds and souls. Christ did not lay out any plan of government, but left it to the conscience of the individual, the same way He connects to each of us.

We are Americans but we are also members of a human family that connects us to something truly wonderful and immense.

So our job here at the Spiritual Politician is to look at Government as a human tool we use every day. We need to consider if government is working in a way that speaks that common understanding about our connections to each other and, if it is not, we need to change it.

Americans have had many successes over the last 231 years since our founding and, learning from both mistakes and successes we can consider that question. So here at the Spiritual Politician we look at the truth behind of rhetoric.

Given what is going on today in Government what we may decide to do it reboot the whole system.

Everywhere you look you see dollar signs fluttering away on wings; the future is bleak, bleak, bleak. The house you bought new will be obsolete in thirty years; your car will last, perhaps, five years. Every day your money buys less; every day the walls of the cell seem to constrict.

David Myrland - The man who cures the fear of going to court.

Are you afraid of the IRS? The government is stuffed full of agencies and bureaus that make strong men tremble and all of us blanch. Going to court has become more like mounting the trumble to the guillotine than a place where we are assured that justice will prevail. While we were sleeping the institutions of America were hijacked for the enrichment of the corporations. Now, we need to take it back.

That is no simple matter, as we all realize. But there are ways and David Myrland is one of the people who has been ding just that, a case at a time. With his help you, too can become a part of the solution to reestablishing justice in America's courts.

For David Myrland the whole thing started around April 15^th, 1988 – the IRS knocked on Mr. Myrland's door to inform him that he owed taxes on some tips he had earned four years earlier. David Myrland is the fastest bar keep in the West or anyplace else. 1984 had been the last year he filed a 1040. His reaction was different than most people's; David Myrland began studying the law.

It was a bad day for injustice when that happened.

Realizing that those who confront the system lose David began an intense study of the law and the IRS code. By 1992 he was working as a full time tax payer advocate helping out others as well as writing statute that solved problems in several states.

That intense study resulted in a thorough understanding of the founding principles and a contiguous understanding of how Americans had been sold a bill of ungoods.

Over the years I have seen dozens of tax protesters, seminar producers or citizens go down in flames; that is not going to happen to David Myrland.

People go to his site the first time because they want to fight a traffic ticket. But it isn't only tickets that The Ticket Slayer takes out and getting to keep the money they want to extract from you is not the most important benefit of reading what he has to say.

Greg takes you through all of the issues from those tickets that can cost you a whole house payment today to what to do when the cop who pulls you over smashes you cell phone or camera, something happening all too often these days. Many people who were raised in an era when Blackwater was not training our local police are learning from experience just how expensive it is not to know.

Not the President, not Senators or Congressmen, your governor, mayor of that local cop. It is you, the people. Your rights come with you at birth, they are not the gift of government. Col. David Antoon was with us last week and we did not nearly finish our discussion of the genocide in Palestine, in fact, we barely glazed the surface. So this week we will delve more deeply, especially since now all signs point to an increase in killing both in Palestine and throughout the Middle East. We begin with a question and a few preliminary answers. Tune in for more. Here is where we begin.

What do Osama Ben Laden, George Bush, the Board of Directors for GE, and Tammy Faye Baker have in common? The answer is not their choice of eye liner.

They all profited, or are still profiting, from genocide. Of the group the only one who objected to what was going on, and not for the reasons that would strike Americans as appropriate, was Osama Ben Laden.

The conflict in the Middle East is escalating as the tides of death rise throughout the region. This is the ugly reality that America has tolerated. It is an ongoing genocide that began in Palestine in 1948 and which has continued, an open secret to which Americans remain largely oblivious as children are used for target practice by Israeli soldiers and peace workers are mangled.

There are more questions than anyone can answer in one interview, more questions than can be answered in a life time, most likely. But the broad strokes are here and those provide the mapping for the territory we will be exploring.

It has been claimed by many that Palestinians celebrated when they heard about the attacks on the Twin Towers. Not only was this untrue, it was an intentionally fabricated lie was was rolled out using film from an event years before almost immediately. Our anger stilled potential protests.

For the last more than 50 years America has poured money into Israel, more money than is received in foreign aid by all other countries combined. America pays for Israeli weapons that Israel then uses to kill Palestinians, using those Palestinian children for target practice.

Israeli's today live a prosperous life style; Their economy continues to prosper. Americans who subsidize them through taxes experience economic downturns from every direction.

Nothing about American foreign policy and Israel makes sense, least of all the eradication of a country to make way for the condos and clubs that are displacing the rightful owners of the land that in 1948 was Palestine.

But if you take into account the flow of funds through the fingers of the avaricious it all makes perfect sense. When you understand the who, what, why, and how they all profit the pieces come together like a jig saw puzzle. You need to know because every day your life is impacted by those lines of greed.

You thought they were unrelated. You were mistaken. The world is fraught with congruence, most of it leading today to the pockets of around 28,000 individuals.

Evangelical Christians have cooperated in this annihilation of human life and with the stripping of property from families that lived and worked on the land for hundreds of years in many cases. They do so because their eyes are firmly fixed on Heaven, where some portion of them believe that they will see Jesus Christ descending at any moment. Most of the faithful really believe that. Those who collect their offerings every Sunday mostly do not.

Where did these people come from? Who is responsible for their odd set of beliefs? The answers are horrifying, but interesting.

The several factions of theologically based post and pre millennialists have managed to make their followers believe in a revisionist Bible; they claim to have discovered their solemn absurdities at a time when the world is headed in the direction of piercing the veil of ignorance that has both frightened and intrigued humanity for uncounted generations. It is as if a subset of the most intellectually challenged of the American culture decided that if the unvarnished truth meant their would lose their power then they would simply cancel whatever it was that was causing the problem for them.

At the same time Americans and the rest of the world was moving towards an enlightened sense of spiritual connection these folks were looking for the reverse gear.

Ideas most Americans had rejected, for instance the idea the world was flat, that we did not actually land on the Moon, among others, didn't even make them blink. Given what they were used to tossing ideas like the separation of church and state in the dust bin was easy.

Economically and socially their beliefs were marginalizing them, making them unable to compete in the larger world. Mostly white men who regretted the final installation of civil rights for Blacks in the South, they harkened wistfully to a time when sitting around theorizing did not bring them face to face with the need for objective proof. They were looking for a way out. The exit came with dollar signs from Big Oil using the only medium available to them, theology.

This low end trailer park trash, who spent their time scrunching up their faces to redefine words translated any number of times from languages having a culture of which they were entirely ignorant, were capable of any self-serving illusion. Those who funded them from those corporations simply nodded and wrote the checks. They understood what they were buying, having also purchased Palestine for hysterical Zionists as the perfect medium for injecting themselves into the Middle East, in close proximity to all that lovely oil.

Politics entered the equation with Karl Rove, Ralph Reed, Pat Robertson, Jack Abramoff, and the cadre of other Young Republicans who decided in the 70s that the way to hold on to control of a GOP, that was then moving towards responsible social and environmental policy, was to change the party's demographics.

They looked around and found some likely candidates in the marginalized Yellow Dog Democrats who inhabited low end Southern Churches.

Money can accomplish a lot when you are inherently deceitful and have no discernible ethical or moral qualms.

Suddenly big infusions of cash and an abrupt shift in party allegiance had accomplished what most people thought impossible. The source of the money was major corporations who were getting what they paid for. The intermediaries were their new NeoCon employees. We can be sure they were well compensated.

And so time and social progress reversed itself through the lead provided by Rovian, Reedian, and Robertsonian acolytes of fantasy land and the retreat to a bizarre Antebellum South began.

These same people today own their own jets, multiple residences, and hob nob with Presidents – who they put into office. They indulge their own fantasies as we watch a genocide play out in Palestine and the price of war in the Middle East rises in a wave of Corporate orgasmic excess that the world will never forget.

At home the pumping sound of American blood provides a counter point that marks the flow of funds.

The bottom line of human action is always either sex, power, or money. The three are really interchangeable for most of those involved.

The TheoCons provide the political matrix through which that 180 degree turn away from a steady rise of standards for all people originated. They did it with a mythology that worked on the uneducated and credulous and which liberals treated kindly because they pitied those who were so obviously, they thought, retarded.

Col. Antoon graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1970 and served nearly three tours of duty in Vietnam. During his tour of duty in that war zone he received 3 Air Medals, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the Air Force in in the early 90s and now flies a 747 for a major airline. He has received two graduate degrees and has lived in the Middle East and has traveled extensively around the world, including the middle east. His last job before retiring was oversight of part of the construction of the B – 2 Bomber.

In the early 80s Col. Antoon became a father, he and his wife, Linda, a former AF Major and neonatal ICU nurse, have four children and it was fatherhood that made him revisit the issues he had encountered while first in the military. Col. Antoon wanted answers and he found them.
